This week we received some very exciting news. We received the court date, the date we find out whether we will become Pudding’s Dad and Daddy.
On the 8th January 2020, we find out whether Judge Lynn Roberts thinks we are suitable parents to Pudding. She will then either grant the adoption order or not.
We believe the only reason for her not to is whether Puddings birth family contest. The letter we received they have received too. They are given the option to contest the adoption.
Luckily for us, there is a very slim chance of this happening for several reasons.
Reports
Our social worker, Ann has to complete a form about us and how she thinks we have been on this journey and with Pudding. Pudding’s social worker has to complete Annex A report. This is a report to give her opinion on how Pudding has been in our care.
We don’t attend on the 8th of January as this is a time that social services present their reports and for the birth family to contest the adoption order.
Once we received the judge’s decision we will then be notified of a celebration hearing where the 3 of us, along with our family and friends go to court, meet the judge and have some piccies.
